Sampson!

Meet our next featured pet - Sammy!

Sammy (full name Sampson), belongs to Sarah Beth. He is also called Sammers, Sammy dog, and Sampsonite. She got him from a breeder in West Virginia. He was the runt of the litter and she felt that made him special.

Sammy is a Mini Dachshund sporting a beautiful triple dapple medium hair coat made of gray, black and tan. He will turn 5 years old on February 28th and currently weighs 10 pounds.

Sarah Beth had a hard time deciding on his name, so she elicited the help of her 5 year old nephew to pick out the name, and Sampson suited his personality perfectly.

He loves everyone! Due to that fact, he is not a great protector dog. He also loves, loves, loves raw onions. Rawhides are also one of his absolute favorites. He has an extra canine tooth in his mouth and a floating rib in his chest!

Sarah Beth's favorite thing about him is his love for life. He is very daring. Being only 10 pounds, he cannot be unwatched around water. If you are at the beach, he will "chase" the waves, even if it means running straight into the ocean. If you are at a pool, he will jump right in. He has a zeal for life! Occasionally you can find Sammy doing the backstroke in the house - if he can't swim in the water, he will swim in the carpet!

The only toy that satisfies him is a rope because even the toughest of toys he destroys in an hour.

What would Sammy like to purchase at Colonial Jewelers if he were able to?

Sarah Beth insists that Sammy would choose this platinum ring with a 3 carat oval Ruby center stone, surrounded by 12 round brilliant cut diamond stones. This ring is sure to catch everyone's attention just like Sampson does wherever he goes.

Feel free to contact Sarah Beth and let her know your thoughts about Sammy!

We love our pets!

We are beginning to show off our pets to the world. Our hope is that as you get to know our pets, you will get to know our Colonial family better and feel a part of it!

Our first featured pet is William. William belongs to Sarah.

William currently weighs in at 43 pounds and is expected to grow to a hearty 60 pound dog. Although William's heritage is not fully known, he resembles a pit bull / boxer mix.

Sarah got William from the pound when he was just a small pup. He is growing leaps and bounds! Occasionally William will visit the store and he draws quite a crowd. All of us really enjoy his company.

Sarah's favorite thing about William is that he is the biggest snuggle bug in the world. In addition to his cuddling, he plays the role of Sarah's big bad watch dog.

William is quite the character. You can tell if he is being good or if he is being his alter ego (Bratty Bratterson). His ears tell all. When his ears are to the side, he is relaxed. When they are straight back, he is determined to be good. Watch out though, because when they are straight forward (bat ears), he is being bad and knows it!

He enjoys playing with other dogs, laying in the sun chewing sticks and posting himself at the front door as watchdog of all passerby's.

His best friends are Lenox, a boxer, and Alfie, a boston terrier.

What would William like to purchase at Colonial Jewelers if he were able to?

If we carried it, Sarah believes William would purchase a gold grill for his dashing teeth...but since we do not sell "grills", the Black Rhodium Diamond Cut necklace would suit him best - he most likely would wear it as a collar to make a statement.

Where Everyone Knows Your Name

We've fallen upon Bill Adkins' website, www.ayearonmarket.com and it is wonderful! He is taking one photo of Market St. every day, for a year. Check out his photos. It is so apparent by his photos that Frederick has a local, friendly downtown feel to it. If you look far enough back, you will even see some shots of our store! Enjoy!
